Jazz Bell Group Performs Rhapsody In Blue

This week we have a new recording of Bells of the Sound performing the immortal “Rhapsody in Blue” arranged by Doug Wagner.  I have heard other groups play this classic Gershwin piece decently, but Bells of the Sound’s performance blew me away.  The group nails many of the grace notes, glissando, and slides (signatures of all Gershwin music) that most groups just skip over.  Even if you only watch the first 10 seconds of this video, the skill involved with pulling off a 14 person glissando typically played by only one clarinettist is phenomenal.

According to their Facebook page, Bells of the Sound is going to be recording a jazz album soon, so look for that in the fall!!!!!
