One Last Post About a Legendary Weekend

I promise I will stop posting about Virtuoso soon, but when I went to upload our behinds the scene video I noticed that the Raleigh Ringers had released a video of their performance from that weekend on the same day.  My theory is that Dave Harris and I had some sort of mind meld due to the tropical storm that rolled through Raleigh while were were visiting.  Never the less, I’m excited to have a video from that performance to share with everyone.  This is the beautiful “Legends” by Dr. William Payn.

One funny story about Dr. Payn.  I first met him in 2010 at the Area XII conference in Davis, California.  At that conference I got there a day early to participate in the auditioned conference choir, and then during the conference I took some advanced technique and conducting seminars.  What I didn’t realize at the time was that Dr. Payn, in addition to conducting the conference choir, taught every single class I signed up for.  By the time I walked into his class on the second day of the conference he turned to me and asked, “Haven’t had enough pain yet?”

After that I always jump at the chance to work with him.
