I Saw Three Ships by the Back Bay Ringers

Handbell Advent day 12 features the Back Bay Ringers in this professionally produced recording of "I Saw Three Ships"

While I enjoying watching concert videos of groups performing, it’s always exciting to find a professionally produced video of a top notch group. The Back Bay Ringers from Boston, Massachusetts, put out several wonderfully produced videos this past year. Each one of them look and sound wonderful. I’ll probably share some of the others once December is over.

In this one we hear an arrangement of ” I Saw Three Ships” by Jason Krug. To be honest I didn’t even know this was a holiday song until I rang with the Philadelphia Handbell Ensemble for a season. Maybe it’s just an East Coast holiday song? Or maybe it’s not in the Lutheran hymnal? Either way, it’s a fun tune that sounds great on bells.
